Find all your apps in a simple, easy-to-navigate new space. Just swipe to your last Home Screen page, and the App Library uses on-device intelligence to automatically organize your apps and surface apps that may be helpful in the moment. You can choose the number of Home screen pages you want to display, and easily hide pages for quick access to the App Library.

With an all-new compact design, it’s even easier to get things done. Keep using an app while you get a phone call. Ask Siri1 a question and get results at the top of the screen, just like a notification. And use Picture in Picture mode to watch a video or answer a FaceTime call while you use another app.

Pin your favorite conversations to the top of your conversations list, so you can find them quickly. Express yourself with new ways to customize your Memoji. And set a group photo or emoji for group conversations, where you can use inline replies and mentions to chat.

Plan a bike ride with new cycling directions that incorporate bike lanes and elevation changes. See charging stops along your route when you drive an electric vehicle.2 Explore Guides by trusted experts to discover great places to eat, shop, and meet friends in cities like San Francisco, New York, London, and Los Angeles. And see congestion zones and fees in many European cities, so you can plan around them.

Ask Siri a question and get results at the top of the screen, just like a notification, in an all-new compact design. And Siri is even smarter with greatly expanded knowledge, including 20 times more facts than just three years ago. Get answers to more complex questions like, “How do hybrid cars work?” or “What causes seasons?” without having to browse the web.3

Translate
Translate

With the new Translate app, you get the best and easiest app to use for translating conversations across any combination of 11 languages. Tap the single microphone button to speak, and automatic language detection transcribes the original and translated text on opposite sides of the screen, followed by the translated audio. You can also translate text, look up words from a built-in dictionary, easily view translations in Attention mode, save translations, and see your recent history. And in on-device mode, Translate stays offline so you can keep your conversations private.

Start all your searches in a single destination. Now you have an even more powerful way to search inside apps like Mail and Messages. With a new as-you-type experience, get faster and more relevant results in a simpler design. And you can find and launch web pages quickly—just type your query, get relevant suggestions, and complete your search in Safari.

Get the most out of your smart home with Adaptive Lighting controls, and set color-changing lightbulbs to adjust automatically throughout the day for comfort and productivity. Cameras that support HomeKit Secure Video can now use Face Recognition and Activity Zones, so you can get notifications for specific people or areas in your camera’s view.4

Use your iPhone to securely unlock your car with just a tap on the door, then place your iPhone on the reader or wireless charger and push to start.5 Easily share your digital car keys with Messages, customize them to have full access, or set limits on speed, acceleration, and stereo volume.6 With power reserve, you can open and start your vehicle for up to five hours even if your iPhone battery runs out. And CarPlay now includes wallpapers and new third-party app categories for parking, EV charging, and ordering food.

AirPods automatically switch between your iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, and Mac paired to the same iCloud account, so it’s even easier to use your AirPods with your Apple devices.7 Headphone Accommodations, a new accessibility feature, amplifies soft sounds and adjusts for your hearing.8 Enjoy a theater-like experience that you can take anywhere with spatial audio with dynamic head tracking for AirPods Pro.9 And with a Motion API, developers can access orientation, acceleration, and rotational rates for AirPods Pro.

App Clips
App Clips

An App Clip is a small part of an app that you can discover and open at the moment you need it. So you can quickly complete tasks like renting a scooter, ordering takeout from a restaurant, or setting up a new appliance. App Clips will be available in the fall when apps are updated to support them.

Privacy
Privacy

Apple believes privacy is a fundamental human right, and builds it into products from the start. With new privacy features, app tracking is transparent and under your control. Get privacy information in the App Store,10 limit library access in Photos, see a recording indicator in an app when it’s using your camera or microphone, and share only your approximate location. And developers can offer users the option to upgrade their existing accounts to Sign in with Apple.
